Pre-planned Events
Our definition of an 'event' is the coming together of a group of people in the pursuit of their special interest or just to have some fun. As such events can be Stag or Hen groups or a gathering of wildlife enthusiasts to check out a particular colony of grey seals or a group of folks who just want to get onto the water. Alternatively it can be one of the highly organized events outlined below. In any 'event' Arran Power & Sail will get you there and back.
Tarbert Race Week (23rd - 26th May)
The premier sailing event on the Clyde. Arran Power & Sail can provide transport to and from the event for 20 people from any Port, Marina or Jetty on the Clyde. We also offer you the ability to follow the races from our RIBs.
In addition, Arran Power & Sail owns a Nicholson 38 based on a swinging mooring in Tarbert and can offer this as crew accommodation for the event.
Arran Wildlife Festival (13th - 20th May)
Arran's wildlife is abundant on the land and in the water. From the iconic Golden Eagles to the imposing Red Deer to the rare Hen Harrier. The Arran coast provides a haven for native and traveling species from the grey seals to the basking sharks, porpoise and occasionally dolphins. 2007 was the start of the Arran Wildlife festival and its popularity ensures it will continue and grow. Arran Power & Sail supports the activity on the water.
Tarbert Seafood Festival (5th - 6th June)
Excellent 3 day Gala event with national and local chefs demonstrating and competing in their art and we get to eat the results. Local produce and local bands add to the carnival. Arran Power & Sail will transport you there and back and be available for trips up Loch Fyne for those needing to digest their seafood platters.
Brodick Highland Games (2nd August)
Great day out for all the family, from pipe bands to field and Highland Games events and parachute display teams. One not to be missed. Arran Power and Sail will take you there and be available to take you off for an hour or two if you want to take in the atmosphere from the water.
Millport Country and Western Weekend (4th - 6th September)
This one is a bit special, especially if you like dressing up. Lots of fun with great bands from all over the country but what makes the atmosphere is seeing Doctors, Postmen, Farmers and their partners dressed in full Cowboy/girl costumes, complete with replica Colts. Once you have attended one of these, you will go back for more.
Tarbert Music Festival (19th - 21st September)
The last big gala event of the season in this beautiful fishing village. Attended by the best bands in the Country as well as the local talent this is a great end of season event well worth a visit.
